Scholastica Akhwale hails from Mumias in Kakamega County from a family of nine and later got married in Butsotso East ward in Kakamega County. The mother of one attended Matawa Primary school and soon after joined Mumias Muslim Secondary School. She pursued a certificate course in Information and Communications Technology from Indangalasia Resource Centre in Butsotso East. Her motivation to vie for a political seat was fuelled by her passion to deliver servant leadership and ensure that the children in the ward are able to access quality education and bursary funds. She is devoted to helping the elderly people in her ward to access Cash Transfers allowances from the government to help cater for their basic needs. She envisions the residents of Butsotso East ward are able to attain economic empowerment to help them improve their living standards.
