Kivutha Kibwana Angrily Dismisses His Deputy's Defection to William Ruto's UDA: "She Will Walk Alone"

Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana has hit out at his deputy Adelina Mwau after she decamped to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) associated with Deputy President William Ruto.

The second term county boss who shelved his presidential ambitions in support of former prime minister Raila Odinga's Azimio la Umoja movement claimed Makueni people had agreed to support the ODM leader's presidential bid.

In a hard-hitting statement on Tuesday, January 25, Kibwama argued Adelina would be alone in her journey to the hustler nation.

"My attention has been drawn to clandestine dealings between Adelina Mwau (deputy governor, Makueni county) and United Democratic Alliance. She had even pledged to take with her a huge delegation of our common political friends to UDA, who declined her overtures.

Kibwana stated he wasn't in agreement with the move made by her deputy having worked with her harmoniously for the last nine years.

"While I respect Adelina for the good working relations for the last nine years, her latest move puts our working together on the edge. The voice of the people of Makueni has always been our guide in decision making. I will not abandon that principle for political expediency. Adelina will walk alone," he added.

The Makueni deputy governor was the latest politician to defect to UDA.
