David Murathe: We Wanted Ruto and His Allies Out of Jubilee Party

Jubilee Party vice-chair David Murathe has said that the ruling party wanted Deputy President William Ruto and his allies out.

Speaking during a town hall meeting in Murang'a, Murathe suggested that the deputy president's allies who have now converged under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) sabotaged the party and thus it would not thrive while they were still on board.

The outspoken Uhuru's ally divulged that plans are already underway for Jubilee and ODM to jointly unveil Raila Odinga as their presidential flag bearer.

"We were only after one thing, to expel them from our party. Didn't we do it? Since our party is not fielding a presidential candidate, we are backing Raila Odinga," said Murathe.

Murathe also implied that Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria is a proponent of the Azimio la Umoja Movement.

He stated that Kuria with his Chama Cha Kazi (CCK) party cannot partner with Deputy President William Ruto given that the latter has disregarded the small parties from Mt Kenya.

"He (Ruto) doesn't want us to support our own parties, yet he goes ahead to partner with Moses Wetang'ula and Musalia Mudavadi. Ask Moses Kuria, Mwangi Wa Iria or even Mwangi Kiunjuri. These parties are behind the Azimio la Umoja Movement," he said.
