"Large River Can't Join Small River": Cleophas Malala Says Mudavadi Can't be Kalonzo's Deputy

Malala was responding to the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) technical committee's proposal that Kalonzo should be the outfit's flagbearer and Mudavadi his running mate.

"In 2008, Musalia agreed with Koffi Annan and allowed Raila Odinga to be prime minister and Kalonzo as vice president. In 2017, he backed Raila-Kalonzo ticket. It is now time for them to support him," said Malala on Saturday, January 15.

The Kakamega gubernatorial seat aspirant further argued that the Luhya community, which Musalia comes from, is the second-largest in Kenya compared to Kalonzo's Kamba community.

"There is no way a large river can join a small river. It is the small river that joins the larger river and that's what Kalonzo should do," he added.

Earlier, Malala proposed his lineup of how he envisions One Kenya Alliance (OKA) chiefs to lineup themselves ahead of the 2020 General Election.

In his lineup, Malala proposed Mudavadi be OKA's presidential candidate, Kalonzo (deputy president), Gideon Moi (prime minister), and Wetang'ula as the speaker, roles they will fully take charge of if they win the August polls.
