Boni Khalwale Claims Uhuru Gave Raila KSh 200b to Distribute to Them after Handshake: "Hatukuona Ndururu"

Kakamega senator Boni Khalwale now claims President Uhuru Kenyatta gave the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga KSh 200 billion in their handshake deal. 

Uhuru and Raila shook away their political animosity on the steps of Harambee House, Nairobi, on March 8, 2018, in what came to be known as the handshake. 

Speaking on Wednesday, January 19, Khalwale claimed following the union, the head of state gave Raila the said cash to fund some development projects and distribute the remaining to his then Nationa Super Alliance (NASA) coalition members. 

"After having long discussions, we have started understanding Uhuru. After the handshake, Uhuru wanted development to be spread across the country for the remaining term. In that respect, he gave Raila KSh 200 billion," said Khalwale. 

The bullfighter said the Jubilee Party leader thought the money would help the Mijikenda, Western and Nyanza residents who were behind the former premier
