UDA Deputy President's Position is Reserved for Mt Kenya and Not Mudavadi, Isaac Mwaura Insists

Nominated senator Isaac Mwaura has dismissed claims that Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi will be the running mate in the ANC-UDA working relationship. 

Following the announcement by Deputy President William Ruto that he would work with Musalia and Moses Wetangula's Ford Kenya, reports have been rife that the DP would pick on Musalia as a running mate.

During a morning interview, Mwaura revealed that the Deputy President position in Ruto-led outfit was preserved for a leader from the Mount Kenya region. 

“If we decide to work together ahead of the elections, then there can only be one president. We in Mt Kenya are very categorical that the deputy president position is from our region and that has not changed. That is why you saw among the speakers yesterday there was Alice Wahome, Anne Waiguru and Rigathi Gachagua in that order," said Mwaura
