Kenya Covid-19 Updates: May 07 2020
Thursday May 7, 2020, Twenty-five (25) positive cases have been confirmed bring the total confirmed cases to 607. "This number is growing and we need to do everything to stop it. reported the Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman.
Seventeen (17) of the total confirmed cases are from Nairobi, 2 Wajir, 2 Kajiado, 1 Mombasa, 1 Migori, 1 Isiolo & 1 Nakuru counties.
Seven (7) new discharges have been done today bring the total recoveries to 197
Three (3) other patients have lost; two from Nairobi 1 from Mombasa. This bring to 29 the total number of people lost to this disease.
As a measure to break the cycle of transmission; Dr. Rashid urged Kenyans to observe the following: Wearing face masks, Maintain social distancing, Maintain high standards of hygiene, and Staying at home.
Kenyans have been advised to be vigilant and anyone with symptoms such as high fever, sneezing, coughing, body ache should call 719 for assistance.
“During tough times is when we bring out the best in ourselves. We urge our people in estates where there is restriction of movement to desist movement & help us in controlling this pandemic” Dr. Rashid Aman, CAS Health.
People moving to new neighbourhoods from the hotspot areas should be reported to the authorities.
All Kenyans are encouraged to volunteer and participate in the mass testing.
