Breaking News: 26, May 2020 - Latest Kenya Covid-19 Cases and Updates

The CAS Rashid Aman on Tuesday 26th May 2020 announced that out of the 2,293 people tested in the last 24 hours, 62 new cases were confirmed bringing national tally to 1,348.

 

59 of the cases are Kenyans, 3 are of foreign nationals. The age bracket lies between 6-64 years with the distribution of the cases as of Nairobi-23 Mombasa-16 Kwale-8 Kiambu-7 Kajiado-6 Kitui-3.

 

The total number of recoveries to date is 405, after three more patients were discharged from hospital, Dr. Aman said.

 

He discouraged the spread of false information on all social media platforms.

 

He noted that most people have turned testing o COVID-19 in fear of meeting the cost. He urged Kenyans to come out openly and conduct testing as the costs shall be met by the government.

 

Dr, Macharia spoke about transport logistics and emphasized on the border points of Tanzania. Last week on Friday 22nd, May 2020 together with his team they went to Tanzania for discussions in regard to the testing protocols.

 

All the truck carrying vehicles were allowed to pass through the borders on the condition of proper testing. 

 

He told Kenyans that all the borders shall be strictly monitored as a safety measure against COVID-19.
