Breaking News: 8, June 2020 - Latest Kenya Covid-19 Cases and Updates

The health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman announced on a press briefing a confirmation of 95 new cases following the testing of 196 samples bringing the new cases of positive cases to 2862. He sent his heart condolences to the family and friends of the believed family in Nairobi. 

He joyfully announced the highest number of recoveries since the start of the pandemic as 97 thus a total of 849 recoveries. He informed the press that out of the 47 counties, 38 had been affected by the pandemic thus only 9 counties were left out.

The age bracket was highlighted to rank from one year old to seventy-two years with 57 males and 38 females. (2 of the cases were Kenyans and three of foreign nationals. The county distribution lied at Nairobi-13, Mombasa-56, Kajiado-6, Busia-10, Kilifi-3, and Kitui Garissa, Kwale and Marsabit a case each. Marsabit became the new county to contract the virus.

Subcounty distribution was given at Nirobi: Kibra-10, and Kasarani, Langata, and Dagoreti North a case each. Mombasa:Jomvu-3, Likoni-5, Changamwe-13, Mvita-22, Kisauni-6, and Nyali-7.

The three cases in Nyeri were of healthcare workers, Kajiado cases were from Kajiado Town-3, KajiadoEast-2 and Kajiado North-1. The Busia cases were of truck drivers at the Malaba and Busia border points. The Kwale cases were from Msambweni while the Kilifi cases were from Kilifi North and Central.

Dr. Rashid appreciated the medics for their good work and urged Kenyans to join hands with them by following the measures in fighting the pandemic.

Ge emphasized on the elderly above 65 years and the medics to wear the beyond 95 particulate masks due to their risk to the virus. He also urged the public to keep on wearing their fabric masks to reduce the spread rate.

He concluded by urging people to display compliance in the containment measures.
