Kesses MP Swarrup Mishra to Seek Re-Election on Independent Ticket:

Kesses Member of Parliament Swarup Kiprop Mishra has publicly declared that he will seek re-election on an independent ticket.

The first time legislature made it clear at a public meeting at his constituency while noting that his hopes are pegged on the electorates and not on any political party.

“My party is Kesses and nobody should ask me a question as to why I am not in United Democratic Alliance (UDA),” said Mishra.

The MP has in the past come under sharp criticism by section leaders allied to Deputy President William Ruto for failing to support UDA.

Last month, his name was adversely mentioned during a meeting attended by the DP with many taking turns to call him out along with Moiben MP Silas Tiren, Cherangany counterpart Joshua Kuttuny for not defending the party while being a legislature from Ruto’s backyard.

“I do not hate UDA but there is something somewhere that makes me not join the party. I will be able to reveal my reasons after August this year,” added Mishra.

During the public meeting, Mishra called on the electorates from Kesses to stick with him even as the general elections draw close.

“If I will lose in the elections, I will need a leader such as Isaac Terer or James Bett Former MP to take over the mantle because I know that they will give me a job in the government of Kenya but by grace, if I win, I will also do the same,” he explained.
