Francis Atwoli Begs Luhya Community to Boycott William Ruto's Rallies:

Central Organisation of Trade Union (COTU) secretary-general Francis Atwoli has urged the Luhya community to boycott Deputy President William Ruto's rallies whenever he visits the western region.

Atwoli claimed that Ruto had been abusing him in his rallies, hence the Luhya should reciprocate by not attending meetings convened by the DP.

The COTU boss stated he is one of the Luhya elders hence the DP should respect him if he also wants to be respected by the Mulembe community.

The vocal trade unionist also told those who are close to Ruto to warn him against looking down on other leaders.

"And please tell Ruto to stop abusing fellow leaders. He is looking down upon leaders including me who is an elder and a leader. So whenever he called for a rally in Kakamega don't go," he said.

A few weeks ago Atwoli said Ruto had been referring to him as ‘mzee wa nyororo' to mean a man wearing chains.

The trade unionist did not take the sentiments lightly as he stated Ruto will not be the next president for attacking his Catholic rosary, which he explained was a symbol of his relationship with God.
