Raila Odinga Takes Week-Long Break from Azimio Campaigns, Set to Travel Abroad

ODM leader Raila Odinga will be missing in the campaign trail for the coming 7 days. 

Raila held his last consultative forum on Thursday, February 3, when he met leaders from Ukambani led by governors Charity Ngilu of Kitui and Makueni's Kivutha Kibwana. 

Sources privy to the ODM chief's itinerary indicated that he will be kickstarting his trip in the neighbouring Ethiopia before leaving for Mumbai, India. 

He will be gracing the 35th Summit of the African Union African (AU) meeting in Addis Ababa between February 5 and 6, 2022.A statement sent to the press by his spokesperson Dennis Onyango indicated that the former prime minister would thereafter fly to India. 

Raila is the AU High Representative for Infrastructure Development.

Even with his absence, the Azimio la Umoja presidential campaigns will go on under the stewardship of Governor Nderitu Muriithi of Laikipia, Kakamega's Wycliffe Oparanya who is also the ODM deputy party leader and other handshake-allied senior politicians.
