Meet Karura MCA Aspirant Who Wants Cement Bottom-Up Economics in Ward Hosting UN, Runda and Muthaiga

On the outside, 31-year-old Naomi Susa looks shy courtesy of her signature smile, but deep down is a fierce budding politician gearing to take on a fierce battle against male candidates.

Naomi, who intends to vie in the Karura ward of Westlands Constituency on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket said that she plunged into the murky waters to challenge the status quo.

She challenged the fact that the men have been at the helm of the constituency for decades but have time and again left office without any tangible projects.

According to her, she is the perfect alternative to bad leadership given that Karura has been a victim of bad leadership and nothing much has changed in the last 10 years.

She reiterated that social amenities and infrastructure have largely remained the same over the years and little seems to point towards improvement.

"Muthaiga, Gigiri and Runda are at risk of underdevelopment as nothing new is being done to them. I believe I can offer this alternative leadership," she told TUKO.co.ke's Hillary Lisimba.

She added that, given that she comes from the UDA camp, the business community in the lush neighbourhoods will also benefit from the bottom-up economic model.

To successfully achieve this, the businesswoman says she plans to support upcoming and existing entrepreneurs, especially in the marginalised areas of Githogoro and Mji Wa Huruma.

The young aspirant kickstarted her campaign at the St Joseph's church Muringa in Githogoro as she consolidated her efforts towards the party nominations set for next month.
