Mixed Reactions as William Ruto Holds Rally in Murang'a Till Night Read more: https://www.tuko.co.ke/politics/447492-mix

Deputy President William Ruto pitched camp in Murang'a county, drumming up support for his presidential bid in the forthcoming August 9 General Election.

The second in command was accompanied by his Kenya Kwanza Alliance co-principals Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang'ula together with allied politicians including MPs Rigathi Gachagua, Ndindi Nyoro, Moses Kuria, Alice Wahome among others.

In the Sunday, March 20, event, the politicians traversed Karuri, Kahuro, Kahatia, Kanyenyaini, Murang'a town and finally Kangema town. However, by the time they reached their final stopover, it was already late in the night.

According to a Facebook live video shared on the DP's page, the politicians were in Kangema at 8.30pm and addressed the area residents for about 30 minutes.

Being in the dark, the area was illuminated by artificial lights with the politicians addressing the crowd atop their vehicles.

Surprisingly, despite being at night, there was a huge crowd that cheered Ruto as he was making his remarks.

However, the night campaigns stirred mixed reactions on social media. Some netizens raised concerns about the safety of the attendees.

Others hilariously sympathised with Mudavadi saying he was not used to such vigorous campaigns. While still in the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) there was a joke that, the son of Hannah and other principals 'only held meetings in hotels to plan when to meet next'.
