Raila Odinga Jets Back to Country after Working Tour of United Kingdom

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has jetted back in Kenya after his international working tour of the United Kingdom. 

The Opposition leader, together with his allies, safely landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on the morning of Tuesday, March 22. 

He left the country on Sunday, March 13, for the European nation accompanied by his Azimio la Umoja allies including Governors Charity Ngilu and Hassan Joho. 

Others were ex-Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth, Poline Njoroge, MP Junet Mohamed, Senator James Orengo among others. 

During his tour, Raila held talks with the United Kingdom trade envoy to Kenya Theo Clarke on Wednesday, March 16.

The former premier revealed that his discussion with the UK representative revolved around the partnership between the nation and Kenya and the sole objective of revitalising the economy post the COVID-19 pandemic. 

After the high-profile meetings, the ODM leader appeared on various televisions where he was interviewed, among them the BBC.

He also gave a talk at the iconic Chatham House in London, where he detailed his relationship with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Being a sports enthusiast, in the evening, Baba, as he is fondly referred to by his supporters, travelled to the Emirates Stadium to watch an EPL clash between Arsenal FC and Liverpool. 

On Thursday, March 17, the presidential hopeful held an indoor meeting with the leadership of the Anglican Church led by Archbishop of Canterbury Reverend Justin Welby.

Raila's trip culminated in his meeting with Kenyans living in the country.
