Flamboyant Kirinyaga Senate Aspirant Confident He Will Thrash Opponents

Prominent businessman and Kirinyaga senatorial candidate Anthony Karimi is confident that he will emerge victorious in the August polls. 

Karimi told TUKO.co.ke that he was seriously committed to defending devolution noting that little had been done since the system of governance was rolled out in 2013. 

Karimi observed that devolution was yet to yield fruits due to a lack of serious oversight. 

"Kirinyaga has been in the news for the wrong reasons and we have to rectify this through serious coordination and deliberate oversight conversations," he said.

The aspirant is contesting the seat on the revamped Jubilee Party ticket and has already hit the ground with daily campaigns to popularise his bid.

Karimi has also been participating in the Jubilee Party activation meetings held in the grassroots to rebuild the party ahead of the August 9 elections. 

He expressed his commitment to rejuvenate Jubilee in central Kenya after the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) posed a force to reckon with.

The aspirant has also been on record hailing President Uhuru Kenyatta for the projects commissioned in Kirinyaga among them Thiba dam, Wang’uru stadium, tarmacking of urban centres like Mwea, Kerugoya and many others. 

He will be facing off with the county majority leader Kamau Murango.
