John Nyaga: Former Minister Joe Nyaga's Son Declares Interest in Presidential Seat

Former minister Joe Nyaga's son Jeremiah John Mwaniki Nyaga has declared interest in the August 9 Presidential Elections.

Speaking on Tuesday, March 22, in Kirinyaga, Nyaga said he will submit his credentials to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to contest as an independent candidate.

Nyaga said Kenya is a democratic country and no community should be denied the right to choose a leader of their choice.

"One of the key reasons I am going to do that is because I reject completely the notion that any community in Kenya is not allowed to produce a presidential candidate. I refuse and deny," he decried.

He said despite hailing from a small community, he has the right to take the country's top seat and urged other communities to produce their own in the forthcoming General Elections.

"I am from Ambere, a very small community with about 200,000 people and as of today, we have two candidates for the presidency. I encourage all communities to produce a candidate in the coming elections," he argued.
