Nairobi Gubernatorial Aspirant Agnes Kagure Puts Ghost Workers on Notice

Nairobi governor aspirant Agnes Kagure has pledged to create more job opportunities for youth in the county by fighting the ghost worker menace.

In a Facebook message to Nairobi residents, Kagure warned those earning salaries at the expense of diligent and hardworking civil servants that their days are numbered.

The business lady decried poor services offered at the county offices, adding that it is a trend that has been there for years.

"Getting prompt and satisfactory service in most of our offices is a nightmare, and the employees aren't solely to blame. Most are overworked and demoralised, as they have to carry the burden of ghost workers whose salaries continue to be drawn without replacements being done, as has been the trend for years," read Kagure's message in part.

She was categorical that ghost workers have blocked opportunities for young and deserving Kenyans and "wiping them will revamp services in the county".
