William Ruto Dismisses Claims He Plotted Uhuru Kenyatta's Impeachment:

Deputy President William Ruto has come out guns blazing dismissing President Uhuru Kenyatta's claims that he wanted to impeach him.

While meeting about 3,000 Kikuyu elders at State House Nairobi on Saturday, March 26, the head of state described Ruto as a power-hungry politician who wanted him out of power. 

Uhuru explained that the second in command planned for his ouster from the government by attempting to rally Jubilee MPs against him. 

However, speaking on Sunday, March 27, in Kilifi, Ruto denied ever plotting to impeach his boss suggesting that it was ODM leader Raila Odinga who tried to overthrow the legitimately-elected Jubilee government.

The DP was referring to when Raila swore himself in as the people’s president, against the Constitution, at Uhuru Park in 2018, after the contested 2017 General Election.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) leader said he is not insane to help put together a government and then go behind it and plan to remove it. 

According to Ruto, the impeachment accusations currently directed at him should instead be placed on Raila.

He asked the president not to sink that low and spread lies and propaganda now that his project (Raila) has been rejected by the people,
