Mike Sonko Says He Joined Wiper Because UDA Mistreated Him

Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko has revealed the reasons he resorted to joining Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper party and ditching the United Democratic Alliance. 

The impeached county boss had hinted at joining Deputy President William Ruto's camp shortly after his unceremonious impeachment in December 2020. 

However, a few days ago, he announced his move to Wiper as a life member and he is now attributing his change of heart to the mistreatment he allegedly faced in UDA, Daily Nation reported. 

"I was to register with UDA first but I was mistreated. I wanted to join them after resigning from Jubilee but SG Veronica Maina sabotaged my registration,” he said.

He claimed that the party is mistreating politicians warning it may end up losing more leaders if the alleged maltreatment continues.
