Tim Wanyonyi Pours Cold Water on Johnson Sakaja's Gubernatorial Bid

Senator Johnson Sakaja is a failure who does not qualify to be Governor of Nairobi, Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi has said. 

On Friday, April 1, at his campaign secretariat, when he met members of minority communities living in Nairobi, Wanyonyi questioned Sakaja's leadership ability. 

Wanyonyi blamed the senator for sleeping on his oversight job that led to the takeover of crucial county government functions by the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS). 

He challenged the senator to list any of his achievements that Nairobi people can feel proud of. 

He faulted Sakaja for being lazy and aloof, unlike when ex-Senator Mike Sonko put the then Governor Evans Kidero administration on its toes, allowing nothing to go wrong.

“The senator’s work is to ensure that resources that are allocated the county from national government are disbursed and he is also required to oversight how the same is used well as allocated. But we have seen our senator sleeping on his job because its during his time that the county government of Nairobi broke down, it’s that time that the national government took over functions of the city yet he was silent,” Wanyonyi said.
