"I Gave Mudavadi and Wetang'ula Money to Market BBI, They Should Return It"

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has taken issue with ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Senator Moses Wetangula's demand that the proponents of the flopped Buiding Bridges Initiative (BBI) should refund the money that was channelled to the process.

This comes after the Supreme Court upheld the ruling by the High Court and the Court of Appeal to annul the Constitutional Amendment Bill, 2020, the BBI, terming it unconstitutional.

Immediately after the ruling, Mudavadi led the Kenya Kwanza team in lauding the apex court saying Kenyans had been saved from a big-time fraud that would have otherwise burdened them.

He, in turn, asked the promoters of the report, President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga, to refund close to KSh 20 billion taxpayers money which he claimed was channelled to the process.

However, Junet accused Mudavadi and Wetang'ula of double standards saying they were also beneficiaries of the BBI money.

It is worth noting that the duo supported the bill to its advanced stages and pictures are available of them signing the report during its signature collection launch at KICC in Nairobi.

Speaking on Saturday, April 2, Junet disclosed that as the chairman of the BBI secretariat, he used to give Mudavadi and Wetang'ula money to market the report.

He in turn asked the Kenya Kwanza co-principals to first refund the BBI money that they used before others can follow suit.
