Kidero Goes Independent in Homa Bay Gubernatorial Race

Former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has announced that he will contest for the Homa Bay gubernatorial seat as an independent aspirant in the August 9 General Election.

This announcement from Kidero came a few days after the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) endorsed Homa Bay woman representative Gladys Wanga as its preferred flagbearer for the position of governor in the lakeside county.

On Sunday, April 3, Kidero stated he will not drop his bid after many calls from the electorates, who have been pressuring him to contest for the seat.

“In response to your cries for better governance and restoration of your sovereign jurisdiction, I will offer myself as an independent candidate for the position of Homa Bay County governor,” Kidero said.

The former county boss assured his supporters that he will not let go of his gubernatorial bid.
