John Mbadi Says He's Friends with Aden Duale

National Assembly minority leader John Mbadi has recalled working with former majority leader Aden Duale before he was kicked out of office over alleged disloyalty.

The Suba South Member of Parliament said that even though he doesn't talk regularly with Duale, they are good friends.

He recounted how the Garissa Township MP used to hand him money to help him traverse his constituency.

"He is someone I respect. He is someone who called me sometimes and asked whether I was going to the constituency over the weekend and he would hand me KSh 200,000," he told Daily Nation.

Mbadi and Duale belong to different sides of the political divide.

While the ODM chairman supports the Azimio la Umoja movement captained by former prime minister Raila Odinga, Duale is a loyal foot soldier of Deputy President William Ruto who leads the Kenya Kwanza Alliance team.

Mbadi said he enjoyed working with Duale more than Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya who took over the majority leader position.

The ODM chairman said he doesn't have a political relationship with Ruto as rarely talks with him.

He said Ruto and Raila may work again in future again as politics is dynamic.
