Kisii MCA Aspirant Working in Nairobi Killed after Arriving Home for Nominations

The family of a Nairobi based businessman Thomas Okari has been thrown into mourning following his mysterious killing.

Okari, who was eying the Bombaba Borabu ward representative seat had travelled to Kisii from Nairobi in preparation for the ODM party nominations slated for April 7, before he was hacked to death.

The 38-year-old reportedly left Nairobi for Kisii on Friday, April 1. He arrived at his Bombamba home in Bomachoge Borabu on Sunday, April 3 at around 11 pm.

However, moments later, a gang of assailants forcefully gained access to his house through the backdoor and hacked him in the head using a machete before escaping.

His nephew, Daniel Mayaka, who was staying with him heard his distress calls and when he rushed to his bedroom, he found Okari lying in a pool of blood.

Mayaka, in turn, called for help and rushed his uncle to Oasis Specialist Hospital in Kisii, where he was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU).

Unfortunately, the businessman succumbed to injuries on Monday, April 4.

As the police continue with their investigations, Okari's family linked his slaying to his involvement in politics.
