It's Becoming Obvious to Me that Raila Is Being Played

Machakos governor Alfred Mutua has said that ODM leader Raila Odinga is being played in the Azimio la Umoja Coalition.

Mutua said that in the last few weeks, Raila is being played because of the way things have been organised.

Speaking on Citizen TV Thursday, April 6, the governor divulged that there was a challenge of inclusion because only three groups run Azimio that is ODM, Jubilee, and OKA.

"I am in Azimio because of Raila, but it's becoming very obvious that for the last several days, Raila to me is being played and the way things have been organised," he said.

He said they had held a press conference after several meetings because they did not like what was happening in Azimio.

"We went into Azimio believing that Raila was the best candidate; we endorsed him as the best candidate and we had been promised that political parties will be a structure of participation within the political party machinery, but we have not seen this and so we have seen the game being played in that are making us very very uncomfortable," Mutua said.

He said that before endorsing Raila at KICC, they agreed that small parties in the coalition should also have two representatives at the table when making decisions for the coalition.

"We had agreed that other smaller parties would also sell about two people to seat in that summit so that the summit would be now made up of two people from Jubilee, two from OKA, two from ODM and two from the other parties," he added.
