I Wish I Could Drive Myself to Enjoy the Sights and Sounds of the World

Renowned Kenyan Gospel Musician and 2022 Presidential aspirant Reuben Kigame says one of the things he would wish to do if he had eyesight is to drive himself. He says he would enjoy the sights and sounds of the world better if he could drive himself, a pleasure which loss of eyesight has denied him.

Reuben regrets that sometimes he gets late for meetings and appointments, in case the driver is late to pick him up. He laughingly shares that he is not supposed to get angry at anyone who makes him late, yet he is also human.

When admitting that he loves nature and would wish to take long drives with his loved ones, Kigame lamented that now he only harbours such ambitions within his own self and mind.

Surprisingly, Kigame has written extensively on visuals and aesthetics, of which he told Tuko, that he learns most of the things about beauty from friends and his close associates.

He further stated that despite his visual impairment, he scored a straight A in the Visual course while in college.

"Isn't it a wonder that I passed with an A in a course that is intimately related to eyesight! God works in mysterious ways and I have learnt to avoid negativity regardless of the condition that I live with."

Kigame does not however, let anything hold him down, despite the blindness, which he acquired at only age three, out of cataracts. He has defied the odds to become a household name in the Gospel music Industry, belching out lovely tunes in several local languages in Kenya.

This year, he has decided to throw his hat in the Presidential Ring as an independent candidate and battle it out with other contestants.
