UDA Aspirant Dies in Road Crash Day after Nandi Hills Parliamentary Hopeful Died

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has yet again lost one of its members a day after Wesley Kogo, Nandi Hills parliamentary hopeful, died. 

Nancy Wanjala Mwashumbe perished in a tragic road crash on the night of Thursday, April 7 near Voi at Ngutunyi, along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway. 

She was on her way to her brother's funeral scheduled for Saturday, April 9. 

Nancy, a teacher by profession, resigned from her position as deputy headmistress of the Coast Girls High School in Mombasa to vie for the Chaani ward seat in Changamwe constituency through the UDA party ticket.

Mombasa gubernatorial hopeful on the UDA ticket Hassan Omar mourned the goner as a friend and a source of encouragement and strength. 

In similar but sad news, Nandi Hills parliamentary seat aspirant Wesley Kibet Kogo died on the morning of Thursday, April 7.

Kogo, popularly known as Tingeet, perished in a road accident in Nairobi county's Kangemi area. 

According to his last Facebook post, the 30-year-old met his death while heading to a talk show at KASS FM radio studios in the capital city.

The deceased was seeking to unseat incumbent MP Alfred Keter on the UDA part ticket.

His body was moved to the City Mortuary.
