Babu Owino Re-arrest Right outside Milimani Court Just moments after his initial releas

Babu Owino faced a re-arrest right outside Milimani Court just moments after his initial release

In a shocking turn of events, Babu Owino, the outspoken Kenyan politician, was re-arrested outside the Milimani Law Courts moments before his lawyers and family were about to process his cash bail.

The lawmaker facing numerous challenges was anticipating his family to complete the necessary procedures for his bail money, but unexpectedly, the detectives detained him again. His legal representatives acknowledged the re-arrest, although they are uncertain about the reason behind this recent action taken by the police. Babu Owino's lawyers are accusing the police of harassment, as they claim that their client was taken away by the police while they were at the registry handling the KSh 100,000 bail.

The lawyers asserted that the police forced them to leave the registry while they were in the process of arranging for Babu's release. One of the lawyers stated,

"We were asked to leave the registry where we intended to pay the cash bail. I have the cash bail amount here." Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru expressed his concern, saying,

"It's unimaginable that someone granted bail by the court and within its jurisdiction could be taken away without completing the bail process." The lawyers expressed their frustration, claiming that police officers had taken control of the courtrooms, obstructing them from fulfilling their legal responsibilities.

"We are just done with our court process and I've been released on cash bail and as we speak, CID from DCI headquarters and Nairobi area are all here waiting to rearrest me if I leave the police cells. So anytime from now, they are planning to arrest me but we shall continue fighting. Bungei we know your plans just proceed with them," Babu said at Milimani Courts.
