David Sankok Seeks to Bar Raila Odinga From Contesting for Presidency

Nominated Member of Parliament David Ole Sankok has threatened to move to court to stop Raila Odinga from vying for the presidency in this year's polls.

Addressing the press on Tuesday, January 11, from his home, the lawmaker said his move was informed by the alleged treason offences committed by the ODM leader.

According to Sankok, Raila ought to be charged for the 1982 coup and his swearing-in as the "people's president" in early 2018 at Uhuru Park.

He said that he had assembled a group of lawyers who would be appearing for him in court over the matter. Despite not disclosing the date he will be filing the case, Sankok said the two instances left an egg on Raila's face, thus quashing his eligibility to run for the country's top job on the grounds of integrity.
