Ole Lenku Aplogises for Missing Raila's Narok Rally: "Had an Emergency, Looking Forward to Next Rally"

Kajiado governor Joseph Ole Lenku has explained he missed Azimio La Umoja rallies held in Narok county on Saturday, January 22.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga led his troops in a tour of the vast Maa county in a bid to woo the community to support his State House bid.

However, the neighbouring Kajiado governor skipped the function but claimed he had an emergency thus he could not join Azimio La Umoja campaigners.

"Today morning, as I prepared to travel to Narok to join the Maa nation for a mega rally in Ololulung'a in Narok West, I got a very personal emergency that made it impossible for me to make it to Narok county to host former prime minister Raila Odinga for the important rally," he stated.

Ole Lenku lauded the Maa community for the rousing reception they accorded Azimio La Umoja supporters, promising not to miss the next rally.

Ole Lenku was among over county chiefs who unanimously backed Raila to be the Azimio la Umoja movement's flagbearer and presidential candidate in the August General Election.

The Monday, January 17, consultative forum, convened by the Opposition leader was attended by 26 governors with their four other colleagues sending their apologies.
