Uasin Gishu: Scare as Caleb Kositany's Campaign Car Bursts into Flames in Eldoret

Soy lawmaker Caleb Kositany is counting losses after his political campaign vehicle burst into flames at Langas, Kapseret, Uasin Gishu county. 

The Saturday, January 22, incident saw Kositany's vehicle complete with the public address system reduced to ashes. 

Kositany dismissed claims that his political competitors were behind the incident, clarifying that it was accidental.

"It was an accident," he responded to a text message. 

The United Democratic Alliance politician further explained the fire was caused by a faulty generator.

"My public address vehicle caught fire today, due to a faulty generator. Everybody is safe. Thanks to the Eldoret airport fire brigade and Uasin Gishu county fire department. We thank God," he tweeted later on. 

Witnesses said the generator fell from the roof of the vehicle thus causing the fire.
