Jalang'o and Nelson Havi Would Win Lang'ata, Westlands Seats if Elections Were Held Today, New Poll

If elections were held today, Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang'o, and Nelson Havi would win their respective parliamentary seats.

A new survey conducted by Mizani Africa suggests the two are the big cheeses in the Lang'ata and Westlands parliamentary races.

Jalang'o will be going for the seat on an ODM ticket, with Havi angling for the UDA ticket.

The respondents were asked who they would prefer as their representative in the National Assembly if the polls were held today, Friday, January 21.

Jalang'o seeks to unseat Nixon Korir, a first-timer who won the seat in 2017 on the Jubilee Party ticket.

Havi, who is also making his first stab at the post, seeks to succeed Tim Wanyonyi, who is eyeing Nairobi's governorship. According to the pollster, Havi leads in Westlands 45.3% worth of support. Second to the outgoing LSK president is Dedan Mugo, who enjoys 32.7% of support, with Jessie Waiyeki in third place with 10.2%.

In the fourth and fifth places are Pattini (5.1%) and Mike Ngumo (3.2%) respectively.

In Lang'ata, Jalang'o leads as per the survey, boasting of 36.7% worth of support, followed by Nixon Korir, who has 34.3%.

Other contestants are Jimy Eddy (13.0%), Silas Jakakimba (8.6%), Fatma Husein (3.4%), and Vivian Taa (2.6%).
