William Ruto promises Hustler Fund to boost Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME)

The government will create a new fund to help small and micro enterprises access capital.President William Ruto made the promise in a speech delivered during his swearing-in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SD_z8qjz5-0&t=27s&ab_channel=KTNNewsKenya

He, however, did not provide details of the fund, including the specific amount to be set aside or terms of accessing it.

He said the fund would benefit low-income groups or "hustlers" as he calls them and will be deployed through credit societies and investment groups.
 
  • Providing Ksh 50 billion annually to provide MSMEs with reliable access to credit

  • Provide one street trading premises for every 50 urban residents
    •  
  • Increase the daily income of informal traders by Ksh 200
    •  
  • Establishing MSME Business Development Centre in every ward
