Governor Julius Malombe Pledges On Micro Small and Medium Enterprises

• Installation and maintenance of infrastructure to facilitate 24 hour economic activities (e.g access roads, water and sanitation facilities, street lighting, enhance security, merchandise storage facilities, well lit merchandise loading and offloading bays, convenient bodaboda, taxi and vehicle parking facilities, etc)

• Facilitation and support in the acquisition of modern working equipment (e.g fabricated kiosks, computerized wheel alignment, hair dressing machines, shavers, carpentry and masonry tools, concrete mixers)

• Capacity building on entrepreneurial and business skills (innovation, production, marketing, packaging, branding, distribution, human resource and financial management, Information Communication Technologies, customer relations etc)

• Rationalize county taxes, charges and levies with the view of reducing the burden to MSMEs

• Support in access to credit from Uwezo fund, Youth Enterprise Development Fund, Women Enterprise Fund, SACCOs, Financial Services Association, banks, micro -finance institutions, NGOs

• Support to MSMEs in production processes, product and service quality improvement to facilitate recognition, certification and patent for innovations by agencies such as (Kenya Bureau of Standards, Kenya Industrial Development Institute, Kenya Industrial Property Institute)

• Linkage and exposure of county MSMEs to domestic and external markets through sponsoring them to (benchmarking tours, agricultural and trade shows, conferences, expos etc)
