Governor Julius Malombe Pledges On Tourism and Hospitality

• Refinement and marketing of tourism circuit connecting Kitui county with coastal region and Mount Kenya region.

• Protection, conservation and erection of entry gates for the South Kitui Game Reserve, Mwingi game Reserve and the Mutomo Reptile Park

• Capacity building of hospitality sector in the county (hoteliers, tour guides, taxi.)

• Promote county tourism through pre-Christmas annual cultural festival, participation in Miss tourism and related events

• Engagement with hotels/restaurant and stakeholders for upgrade of their facilities

• Hospitality industry workers’ capacity building and customer relations skills enhancement in coordination with private sector

• Develop infrastructure including roads for the Museve county flagship project

• Facilitate communities neighboring game reserves in the sustainable establishment, operation and management of conservancies in the South Kitui, Mwingi and Mwakini game reserves

• Facilitate the identification, organization, registration, training and equipping of cultural and modern songs, dance and entertainment groups in collaboration with private sector and businesses

• Provide incentives for private sector investors/businesses in the entire hotel and hospitality value chain (viz: moderate taxation, licensing fees, land rates)
