HUMAN RESOURCES FOR HEALTH (HRH)

  • Establish a strong human resource for health programme to empower and motivate them. Reinstate all dismissed health professional.
  • Hire more specialized healthcare workers to restore full functionality of all health facilities in the county Improve the working conditions and environment of health care personnel.
  • Capacity build and motivate community healthcare workers.
  • Promote and community health care workers

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

  • Reinstate the unfairly dismissed doctors and employ more specialized, highly motivated healthcare providers.
  • Equip and supply all hospitals in the county with adequate medicine and all other patients' requirements. Universal enrolment of all Laikipians into NHIF social health insurance to ensure affordability of healthcare services by all.
  • The County government shall subsidize payment for the elderly, people living with disability and the very poor.
  • Establish functional Community Health Units (CHU) in all Laikipia locations manned by adequate, highly motivated Community Health Workers (CHWs).
  • Ensure access to healthcare services at the shortest distance throughout by creating health centers of excellence in every ward and service delivery dispensaries in every location.

IMPROVE HEALTHCARE

  • Initiate the vision of establishing a multi–specialist and super-specialist referral hospital with medical research and training facilities in Rumuruti.
  • This will position Laikipia as a medical tourism center.
  • Enhance the existing KMTC in Nyahururu and establish at least one more KMTC College to generate training and employment opportunities for the youth.
  • Promote pharmaceuticals and nonpharmaceuticals production e.g. medical protective gear and treatment fluid within the county.
  • Ensure healthcare is accessible by deploying and equipping community healthcare workers to provide support in disease prevention and health promotion.
  • Provide social health insurance cover (NHIF) and fully support the elderly, people living with disability and the very needy.
  • Sustain training and capacity building of health personnel. Support nutrition programme in every health facility.
  • Open 24/7 health care services covering Maternity and other curative services up to 3 H/F per ward, 24 hr.
  • Develop Psychosocial Support Centers on Gender based violence, drug and substance rehab, Mental care and PSS for HCP.
  • Open gender- based violence and youth friendly wellness centers in Centers of Excellence. Promote school health programmes through health education and immunization to children, adolescents, and the youth.
  • Establish centers of excellence to provide best practices on health, rural health training centers and equitable health care services delivery for all the 15 wards, at least one health center per ward.
  • The Centers of excellence shall have NHIF accreditation and will operate for 24 hours.
  • Establish and equip emergency and rescue services department with accessible ambulance services.
  • Digitize and automate health care services to make the services fast and efficient.
