Governor James Orengo Pledges on Infrastructural Development

Infrastructure is key to economic development hence very vital for Siaya to realize its aspirations. It is vital for a mother who hopes that the water coming out of the pipe is clean and available so her children do not get sick; for a Siaya resident who wants her children to study but cannot afford electricity bill; for farmers who need all weather roads and reliable shipping to get their goods in the market.

James Orengo and Nyalore fully understand that investing in infrastructure is one of the main mechanisms for increasing income, employment, productivity and consequently, the competitiveness of an economy.

James Orengo and Nyalore team shall;

  •  Lobby National Government to urgently repair and expand Bondo-Siaya road, Luanda-Siaya road among others. Engage youths to Improve village roads under a specific roads maintenance program to support youth employment and household income Expand the road network to cover all parts of the county with both Murram and bitumen class roads.

Our priority roads among others would be;

1. Usenge–BarKanyango-Dominion–Ratuoro-Nyandiwa

2). Sidindi-Sigomere-Yogo-Bar Ober

3). Boro-Hawinga-Uhembo-Nyadorera

4). Anyuongi-Nyagoko-Mahaya-Riat Kolemo-Ajigo `

5). Opoda-Bar Ober-Ojola-Kanyadet-Siala Kaduol – Bar Kalare-Luanda Kotiato

6) Gagra-Madiany-Ndigwa Road

  • Partner with Strategic investors to exploit hydroelectric potential of eg MAELA falls (Ugenya near Luanda Primary) and NDANU falls (Yala)
  • Construction of airstrips in Kaluo, Sega and Bondo to facilitate trade and tourism.
  • Provide safe drinking water Infrastructure 
  • Deploy Modern and appropriate solid waste and waste water management systems 
  • Design, Build and Operate a modern Disaster Preparedness and Response Infrastructure
  • Avail free Internet Access in selected trading centres to support trade, and information access
  • Reconceptualize and Implement Urban planning in Siaya, Bondo and Yala to support healthy living
