Selly Chepkoech was born and raised in Kapcherobot village, Segero/Barsombe ward of Uasin Gishu county in a family of ten. She attended Barsombe Primary School and Kapropita High School before enrolling at the Baringo Diocese Teachers College where she graduate with both a Certificate and Diploma in Education. Currently she lives in Soy ward, Soy constituency of Uasin Gishu county. Her experience as a teacher where she has worked directly preparing children academically is what has motivated her to contest for an elective position hence her vision is to ensure that children of Soy ward attains proper education and that the region is well developed.
