MLKImpactAwards 2019 Recognizes and Awards People Making Impact in the Youth Space

MLKImpactAwards 2019 is the very first version of My leader Kenya recognition of individuals, groups and organizations making impact on the lives of youths. These awards were held on Friday, 27 September, 2019 during the ‘Vijana Na Biashara’ Expo held at the August 7th Memorial Park.

The event attracted at least 500 young Kenyans and those ‘young at heart’ for instance Joanne Mwangi, one of the Lions in the KCB Lions’ Den; Sarah Serem, Kenyan Ambassador to China; Dr. Shem Ochudho, the Chairman of the Kenya Diaspora Alliance; Professor J M Okello, an Entrepreneurship Philosopher all the way from Canada just to mention but a few.

It was a whole day of learning from those who have been there before as well as from the Youth who are doing awesomely in transforming Kenya positively.

Touching stories were shared like this one of Kennedy Opere (See Video at the bottom), a young man who has transformed a home into a college and made a great impact on the lives of the people of Majiwa, Bondo District in Siaya County.

It is time for the nation, if not the world to know that the youth are up for a noble course- Making Kenya a better country for those who will come after them. The only thing that the government can do is to pat their back and cheer them on in this course.

My Leader Kenya has seen it necessary to reward such efforts as they encourage the work of the youth and youth supporting groups, companies and organizations.
