My Leader Kenya (MLK) appoints Mr. Kelvin Keya as it’s Consultant

Kelvin has over 10 years work experience in programmes advocating for good governance, livelihoods, youth and community development. He is currently consulting on Public Policy and Governance for Konrad Adenauer Stiftung in county governments and for various organizations. Kelvin holds a Bachelor of Education Arts degree (with Information Technology) from Maseno University and currently pursuing Masters in Project Planning and Management at the University of Nairobi.
He previously served in among others as Programme and Communication officer for UNDP-UN Volunteers Kenya in Nairobi. He was Project Officer –Youth Employability project at CARE International in Nairobi and with operations in Embu County. He was Project Officer-(Mobilization/Outreach) for Norwegian Refugee Council on the Information and Legal Assistance Project in Dadaab. He served as Programme Officer – Governance for UNDP Kenya in the Kwale county Joint Devolution Project with the Ministry of Devolution and Planning. He also did serve as Programme Officer & Business Coach for Kisumu County Government on the Youth and Women Entrepreneurs Mentorship programme.
He was the Partnerships & Communications Specialist at UNDP Kenya /UN Volunteers programme where he led several successful youth and volunteer programmes on peace, elections and livelihoods in various counties. In 2013, he was seconded by UNDP Kenya to the Ministry of labor to coordinate all Volunteer Involving Organizations. Kelvin coordinated the process to develop the first National Volunteer Policy for Kenya. He previously served as Local Community Facilitator in the Get Informed Get Involved project under UNDP Governance Programme through Amkeni Wakenya programme and Youth Agenda Kenya. He also served as Regional Executive Officer for St. John Ambulance Nairobi to manage youth and volunteers programme.
Kelvin is a public speaker and writer on devolution and policy development via social, mainstream and print media.
