UDA Nominations: William Ruto's Party Announces Ticket Charges, Lowers Fees for Youths

Deputy President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has announced nomination fees for candidates seeking to use its ticket in the August 9 polls. 

Interested aspirants are required to submit their applications for nominations on or before February 28 via the UDA website www.uda.ke or www.leaders.uda.ke/nominations. 

According to a statement signed by the outfit's National Elections Board (NEB) chairman, Antony Mwaura, men seeking a UDA ticket to take a stab at the presidency will pay a nomination fee of KSh 1 million, while the youth and women interested in the same seat will pay KSh 500,000. 

Male gubernatorial contenders seeking UDA tickets will be required to part with KSh 500,000, while women and youth seeking the same top county seat will pay KSh 250,000.

For the senatorial seat, male aspirants will be required to pay a nomination fee of KSh 250,000, with women and youth seeking the same seat needed to part with KSh 125,000.

County woman representatives seeking to vie on a UDA ticket will be required to pay KSh 250,000, while the youth seeking the same seat will pay KSh 125,000.

Members of National Assembly (MP) male aspirants will be required to pay KSh 250,000 while women and youth seeking the same seat will pay KSh 125,000.

Members of County Assembly (MCA) male aspirants will pay KSh 50,000 while their youth and female counterparts will pay required to pay KSh 25,000.

In all the entries, People Living With Disabilities (PLWD) who are seeking elective seats on UDA have been exempted from paying nomination fees.
