I Won’t Join: Uasin Gishu Tycoon Zedekiah Bundotich alias Buzeki Says No to Ruto‘s UDA

Uasin Gishu tycoon Zedekiah Bundotich Kiprop, better known as Buzeki, has asked members of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) to stop coercing him to join the hustlers' party.

Speaking during the coronation of Uasin Gishu Kikuyu Council of Elders chairman Mzee Kimani Wa Gatonye on Friday, January 14, Buzeki said UDA had not told him about their manifesto.

He said members of the UDA party had been bothering and threatening him with ultimatums to join the Ruto-led political formation or risk losing in the August elections.

"If I don't want your party, why are you forcing me? Another one told me they had given me until December to join UDA. The party has not given me their manifesto, and I have heard what they are going around saying, and I don't want to join UDA. Don't even force me," the businessman stated.

Buzeki explained he would have supported UDA if they had agendas that will help Kenyans, adding that he does not support a party because of its leader.

"If they had agendas that will serve Kenyans and will bring change I will support them with my eyes closed," he said.

It should be remembered that Buzeki left Isaac Rutto’s Chama cha Mashinani (CCM) party in which he was the secretary-general after his party leader, Isaac, started supporting Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 bid.
