UDA Members Endorse ANC and Ford-Kenya Alliance at PG Chaired by William Ruto at His Karen Residence

United Democratic Alliance (UDA) members have endorsed their union with Amani National Congress (ANC) and Ford Kenya parties. 

UDA members endorsed partnership with the two parties on Monday, January 24, during a Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting that was chaired by Deputy President William Ruto at his Karen residence. 

Ruto said he will continue to engage with ANC and Ford-Kenya ahead of the August elections.

"The PG has endorsed the partnership arrived at after the consultation between UDA and ANC and Ford Kenya and we now believe that with this partnership, the country has been given direction on the next general election," Ruto said. 

The second in command urged the independent arms of the government to perform their duties with fairness ahead of the August 9 election.

"We believe that all independent arms of the government should perform their duties as per the constitution and we will support all institutions in making sure that we have a credible free and fair election," he added

He also urged his followers to shun violence during political rallies, saying they have taken a very firm position against violence. 

UDA’s Parliamentary Group also resolved to amend the budget policy statement in order to increase county allocation to near 35%.
