Millennial Rabbit Farmer Maureen Wanyaga Ventures into Politics, to Vie for MCA: "Lead by Example"

When she first appeared on TUKO.co.ke, Maureen Wanyaga was passionate about rabbit farming, an agribusiness she took up when she failed to secure employment after completing university.

Wanyaga is now aiming to join politics to use the position of the Member of County Assembly (MCA), a position she's running for, to encourage youth to be entrepreneurs.

"The reasons that got me venturing into politics are; the failed leadership we currently have, that is not for the people but for themselves," she explained.

These were not the only reasons that got the young rabbit farmer venturing into politics; she believes she will bring change as she comes with a fresh outlook to current problems in the area.

Wanyaga was keen to point out that it was time for the youth to take control of the country and get the ball rolling, especially graduates leaving the university.

According to Wanyaga, she will be contesting for the MCA seat on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket affiliated with Deputy President William Ruto, whom she said recognised her through her rabbit farming.
