Purity Ngirici Denies She's Still in UDA after Stepping out in Yellow Outfit: "Don't Demonise Colours"

Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Wangui Ngirici has denied that she is still in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) after stepping out in a yellow outfit.

Ngirici officially ditched Ruto a week ago and announced she will contest for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat as an independent candidate.

However, on Sunday, January 9, the woman rep posted a picture of her in a yellow outfit and many Kenyans wondered whether this meant she was still in UDA.

The woman rep was quick to correct anyone who misconstrued her yellow outfit as a sign that she still had ties with Deputy President William Ruto's party.

"Let us not demonise colours otherwise we will walk naked," she told a Facebook user who had insinuated that she was back to UDA.

Speaking exclusively to TUKO.co.ke, the lawmaker said she no longer partakes in the UDA party activities, adding that her sole focus now is to unseat Waiguru as the Kirinyaga governor in the August general election.

She revealed that the outfit's top leadership had prompted her to surrender her gubernatorial bid in favour of Waiguru, but she was not in for the idea.
