Raila Odinga Promises to Create Stand-Alone Youth Ministry if Elected President

Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga has pledged to establish a ministry exclusively to deal with the Kenyan youth.

In a post shared on his various social media platforms, the former premier vowed to create a stand-alone ministry for the youth.

He promised that through the ministry, the government would be able to mainstream the appointment of youths to various positions of influence.

"My Government will create a stand-alone Ministry for Youth affairs and mainstream their appointments," wrote Raila.

Currently, youth affairs are incorporated in the Ministry Of Public Service, Youth And Gender Affairs.

Raila further recognised the role played by the youth during the independence of Kenya, stating that they had laid a good foundation for modern-day Kenya.

He said the foundation laid by the young independence icons had steered Kenya through various tough times in the past.
