Abdi Khamis Chome

Hon. Abdi Khamis Chome is a seasoned Kenyan civil engineer and politician who currently serves as the Member of Parliament for Voi Constituency under the Wiper Democratic Movement – Kenya (WDM-K) party. Born in 1962, his political career is defined by remarkable resilience, as he successfully clinched his parliamentary seat in the August 2022 general elections after a 25-year pursuit that began with his first attempt in 1997. Academically distinguished, he holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi and a Master's degree from the University of Dar es Salaam, qualifications that enabled him to build a robust professional background in water engineering and management with organizations like OXFAM GB and the Ministry of Water Development. In the 13th Parliament, he serves on the Departmental Committees for Tourism and Wildlife and Regional Development, focusing his legislative and local development agenda heavily on water resource engineering, infrastructure, youth empowerment, and rural development within Taita Taveta County.
