Ahmed Bunu

Dr. Ahmed Bunu contested the Lamu County Senatorial seat during the 2022 Kenya General Election under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party ticket. He ran a competitive campaign heavily focused on youth empowerment, community health, and social welfare. He finished third in a tight race, securing 8,688 votes (26.61% of the total vote share) behind Yusuf Abubakar and the winner, Joseph Githuku.
