Ayub Savula

Ayub Savula is a prominent Kenyan politician currently serving as the Deputy Governor of Kakamega County, a position he won in the 2022 general election alongside Governor Fernandes Barasa. Before stepping into county leadership, he served two terms as the Member of Parliament for Lugari Constituency between 2013 and 2022. Prior to his political career, Savula worked as a journalist, rising to become a senior editor at the Standard Media Group and later a successful media entrepreneur. Known for his tactical political shifts, he officially joined the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party in 2026 to position himself for the 2027 Kakamega gubernatorial race.
